Flavour and description
Flaked Torrefied Rice consists of rice grains that have been cooked at high temperatures, resulting in gelatinisation of the starchy endosperm, and then flaked. It lightens wort colour, reduces protein levels and imparts a characteristic dryness to finished beers. Rice has low gluten, so it can be used for crafting low-gluten products. Produced by Micronized Food Products (MFP) , our specialist cereals division based in North Yorkshire, Flaked Torrefied Rice is trusted by craft brewers for its consistency, neutral flavour and ease of use in the mash.
